Description
Often the hardest parts of what I do as an artist is titling my work. A title can make or break the impact of the first viewing of a piece of art. So, its very unusual that the title to this piece bubbled up in the early stages. "The Longest Night" refers to the longest night of the year, winter solstice. The next time a full moon will take place on the winter solstice is the year 2094. Is it the longest night for the lonely bear because it is the winter solstice, or is it because in the year 2094 the warming earth has left him without a home...

This is a heartfelt work in every way, the image, the words, the reality. So many people blind to the threat of global warming even though so much freak weather in the past few years. Pilots are required to wear oxygen at two miles high...people die from altitude of 4 to 6 miles high. Our breathable atmosphere is so thin and vulnerable to man made Pollution. So I really appreciate your sentiments here!.....fav / like
